A note on terminology...

The terms psychotherapy and counseling appear to be used interchangeably with in the profession and within the general population. Counseling can be provided by several fields such as school counselor, career counselor, legal or mental health counseling related to emotional problems. Psychotherapy relates to the process and techniques used in the effort of working with people with emotional and behavioral problems. Often the term therapist is used in place of the lengthy psychotherapist once the term psychotherapist has been established in the dialogue.
